Atlanta Romances Book-1: Figuring Out Love

"AHA! exclaimed Megan, “These will work.” She had a pair of plain black heels in her hands. Matt straightened up from the other end of her closet as she announced her find and took a few steps closer to see.

Megan put the shoes on the floor and stepped into them. As she shifted her balance she instinctively reached out and her hand landed on Matt’s shoulder. He looked over at her.

“You’ve got a dust bunny in your hair,” said Matt, smiling. He brushed it away.

“I’m probably full of dust,” said Megan. “I’ll need to find a mirror before I go back to the party.” She started toward the closet door, which also put her closer to Matt.

“You look good to me,” said Matt. “Really good.” He wasn’t exactly blocking the door, but he wasn’t getting out of her way, either. He was just… standing there, looking at her.

Megan looked at him, too. They both froze as their eyes met. Megan saw the want in his gaze and felt an answering flare of her own.

Matt put his hand on Megan’s waist and moved a little closer. Would she push him away? She didn’t. He leaned in and lowered his head toward her. She still didn’t move, so he kissed her. Gently, intensely, and pulled his head back a little. She still didn’t move away, so he kissed her again, not so gently. She felt so good! He put his other hand around her waist, too, and pulled her close to him.

This kiss wanted, no, needed, an answer.
